Hey guys, I know, we haven’t got a new show up yet. Well, between vacations, work, jewelery shows and tardy cable installers, this summer has been, well, like summers tend to be – busy!

We’re gearing up for Episode 2 and it will be online soon – with some amazing sites, cool gadgets and great conversation – so stay tuned!

Thanks for your patience, we’ll be back soon!

As promised, our first full podcast is in the can, and available for free download  through iTunes and via RSS.

For Sheri, it was a definite learning curve, although a great deal of fun.  A comment by Sue on Twitter wins the GeekGrls the technical assistance of a fellow Twitterati, showing that social networks at their best can provide new friends, and knowledge available for the asking.

Sue shares her discovery of Feedly – the site of the week.  Feedly offered Sue a way to coordinate all her favourite blogs, in an incredibly easy to read ‘magazine’ layout.  As well as being very user friendly, she also found that Edwin, Feedly’s creator, is very open to users’ suggestions and idea.  Hear more about her experiences, and be sure to visit the site.  http://www.feedly.com/

Sheri’s project of the week was to find some ‘geek is chic’ tech toys, and she decided that she wanted to find some unique Bluetooth compatible headsets.  Her finds – tiny jewelry-like headsets complete with matching necklace , sunglasses with a prescription option , and a very discreet lightweight headset that was recommended by a comrade from Twitter.

Also, we chat about how to get women involved in online communities and share info about a great newsletter for beginners from social media expert Chris Brogan.

Download the podcast to learn more, and feel free to follow the links for more information about the site and tech toys of the week.  Next episode…..personal GPS devices for you and your family, and the next neat site of the week.

Several weeks ago, we came up with an idea. What if we were to produce a podcast by women, for women, about the stuff that women care about when it comes to technology?

After weeks of plotting and planning and scheming, our idea is about to become reality, with the inaugural episode of the GeekGrls podcast! We’re really excited to share our thoughts and experiences with you. Over the coming days we’ll be telling you more about the show, so subscribe to the blog and keep up to date on the latest. We are putting the first show together now and will have it online just as soon as we can.

The podcast will not be fun without listeners like you, so if you have any ideas or suggestions about what you might like to hear on the show, let us know!

We look forward to having you as a listener!

Sue and Sheri

We are working on a brand new podcast, and the premiere episode is coming soon!
